ICC-ESCWA Centre of Entrepreneurship

Empowering entrepreneurs in the Arab region

Welcome to our Centre!

The ICC-ESCWA Centre of Entrepreneurship is an initiative co-led by the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and the Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) to prepare and mobilize the next generation of entrepreneurs in the Arab region, by building the capacity of various stakeholders, including government agencies and business enablers, in addition to nurturing small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) through specialized programmes.

About the eCommerce Acceleration Programme

The eCommerce Acceleration Programme (eCAP) contributes to the growth of the digital economy and stimulates a dynamic entrepreneurship environment across the Arab region.

December 20, 2022: ESCWA launched the second eCommerce Acceleration Programme (eCAP), with the support of the ICC-ESCWA Centre of Entrepreneurship, to empower Arab small and medium enterprises (SMEs) through their transition journey into online selling.

The eCAP programme builds the capacity of up to 100 SMEs from the Arab region to transition into online selling, either by developing their transactional eCommerce websites or by selling on existing online marketplaces. Participating SMEs will benefit from business and technical expertise, critical setup fees to build/optimize their online platforms or sell on existing virtual marketplaces, one-on-one coaching, in addition to exposure and access to networking opportunities.

Eligible SMEs must:

  • Be registered and operational in one of the Arab countries;
  • Have a working product or service that can be sold online;
  • Have an online presence on social media or an existing website;
  • Be willing to dedicate 1-2 team members for the project.

The online application form is available in English and Arabic. Applications are being reviewed on a rolling basis. You are highly encouraged to apply as early as possible, as submissions close when the targeted number of participants is reached.
